Fantasy Jasper cab ~
Offered here is a sweet cabochon of fantasy jasper (very well named, I think). This exciting material bears some resemblance to the old time butterfly wing once found in proximity, but fantasy jasper is a relatively new find. It hails from the Sierra Madres mountains in Mexico, on the Rancho Colorado claim, and it certainly has colorfully striking patterns! This extra fancy cab certainly has that going for it, in a near rainbow of wild colors! There are NO fractures or cracks or pits present; the lines you see are ALL pattern, which includes areas of detailed concentric banding like the woodgrain in a sectioned tree. Amazing! The cab has a very high rounded dome of 6.5mm, and a super slick glassy polish both front and back.
