Amethyst Sage Agate ~
Here is a cabochon of amethyst sage agate, from Nevada. This appealing beauty is the kind I like best, with the classic mix of colors. The white area has streaks of clear and gold running through it that look something like an old pine tree, contasting wonderfully with the gemmy purple beneath. There's a scattering black dendritic 'bushes' too, very nicely composed in the stone. It has a well rounded dome, a crisp designer 'crescent' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
