Amethyst lace agate ~
Here is a freeform cabochon of amethyst lace agate, from sunny Mexico. This cab features lacy bands in pink, white, blue-gray and pastel lavender, with a river of crystalline amethyst at one side. It is wonderfully translucent, crackly crystal veils and all, as you can see by the backlit photo. It should make a really striking and unusual item of jewelry no matter how simple the setting. The stone has a high rounded dome of 6+mm, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
