Offered here is a cabochon of Imperial jasper, from Mexico. This porcelain material is becoming tough to come by lately, particularly the kind with the best patterns and colors. This example has delightful striped figure in pastel shades of mauve, including one area that resembles a question mark. It proved to be a difficult color to capture accurately; it's gorgeous, but in hand, it's not quite as bright or contrasted as these photos show. With your imaginative creativity, this classic cab will be a surefire winner! The stone has a very high rounded dome of 7+mm, a sleek designer 'shield' shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
