Marra mamba cab ~
Offered here is a dazzling cabochon of Australia's rare Marra Mamba tigereye, undeniably the finest tigereye ever. This knockout example has plenty going for it, with flashy golds as brilliant and captivating as any I've seen in pietersite, and the bottom half dominated by midnight blues. A close look reveals that the blues are shot through with streaks of pink, green, red and even purples! There are dark silvery metallics adding their gleam, including a patch of what my Australian friend insists is magnetite, a brighter silver than the hematite. It has a well rounded dome of 6mm, and an excellent glassy polish both front and back.
