Marra mamba cab ~
Offered here is an interesting cabochon of Australia's rare Marra Mamba tigereye, the world's finest. This unusual example features flashy blues, with some hints of gold, and ribbons and splotches of red chatoyance down the center. It's spangled with dark silvery hematite that gleams in hand, though you catch only a bit of that in the photos. At each side is a very deep blue jasper, which is also peppered with shiny metallics. It has a well rounded dome of 6+mm, and an excellent glassy polish both front and back. A steal at $3 per carat!
