Mystery poppy jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of very unusual poppy jasper. (Recently, in 2013, I've seen it being called 'wormtrack', 'fawn', or 'tidgilite' jasper). When I bought it, the dealer who had the rough couldn't say for sure where it was found, but it was so amazing I eventually got all he had. It has a wildly exotic pattern including dots, and certainly has some very unusual colors; there's burnt orange, creamy ivory, as well as oddly muted slate blues with hints of purplish overtones; very upbeat and festive, to say the least. The cab has a high rounded dome, a designer 'paisley' shape, and a slick glossy shine both front and back.
Size: 50x21mm
Weight: approximately 47 carats
