Mystery poppy jasper cab ~
Offered here is a matching set of two cabochons cut from very unusual poppy jasper. (Recently, in 2013, I've seen it being called 'wormtrack', 'fawn', or 'tidgilite' jasper). When I bought it, the dealer who had the rough couldn't say for sure where it was found, but it was so amazing I eventually got all he had. It has a wildly exotic pattern, including dots and splotches, in a carnival of decidedly unusual colors; there's burnt orange, creamy ivory, as well as at least two shades of oddly muted slate blues. Very upbeat and festive, to say the least! Both cabs have high rounded domes, and a slick glossy polish both front and back.
Sizes: 52x15mm, 15x10mm
Weight: approximately 40 carats total
