Mosquito jasper cab ~
Here is a fine cabochon of dendritic mosquito jasper, from Wyoming. This fancy example has extra nice dendrites that resemble jet black trees and bushes, contrasting wonderfully against a rich earthy yellow orange background. Just in case, I'd like to mention that there are no cracks or fractures present, the meandering threads are all part of the unique pattern. The cab has a well rounded dome of 5+mm, a graceful designer 'paisley' shape, and a fine glossy polish both front and back.
