Dinosaur Bone cab ~
Offered here is an unusual cabochon of fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. Over millennia, the cells in this fossil bone have been completely replaced with subtle tones of translucent bluish-gray agate on one side, with a blush of reddish-orange at the other. Each is framed by the actual cell walls, forever frozen in time. The cab has a very high and well rounded dome of nearly 7mm, and an excellent glassy polish both front and back.
