Carnelian cab ~
Offered here is a gorgeous cabochon of cornflake carnelian, also known as orange chalcedony, from the Polly Drummond agate beds, Oregon. It features juicy tangerine orange coloration, fading from dark at one end, to light at the other. Within the translucent body of the stone is a remarkable pattern of internal 'cornflakes' so sought after by collectors. The color is so strongly saturated that it overwhelms the camera's eye and tends to wash out details like the flakes in this cab, so please be sure to click the photos up to their full size for the best view. The stone has a well rounded dome of 5.5mm, a bold designer 'bullet' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
Size: 39x20mm
