Bruneau jasper cab ~
Offered here is an artful cabochon of Bruneau Canyon jasper, from Idaho. It features an attractive pattern of partial orbs, one in front of the other, in shades of creamy peach, against a burnt orange body. There's just a touch of translucency present too, typical of the best of this fine porcelain jasper. Sadly, it's becoming alarmingly scarce and spendy these days. Bruneau jasper takes an outrageously glassy polish, and when it's nicely patterned like this cab is, it is much sought after by collectors and designers alike. The stone has a very high rounded dome of 7+mm, a graceful ovoid shape, perfectly polished both front and back.
