Rooster tail plume agate cab ~
Here is a cabochon of rooster tail plume agate, which hails from Durango, Mexico. This beautiful, seldom seen material is a great favorite around here, sadly getting hard to find anymore. It features wonderful burnt orange plumes adrift in a pastel purplish agate background. It is nicely translucent, but I seem to have misplaced the backlit photo. Oh well, you get the idea. It has a very high rounded dome, a crisp designer chevron shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
