Offered here is an amazing cabochon of rare African pietersite. This long teardrop stone is a stunning example, featuring golden yellow and deep midnight blue chatoyance in a silky harlequin-type pattern that dances with the light. Swirls of reddish orange add even more color to the appealing palette of this stone; please be sure to click the pics to enlarge them to full size to see the fine details. It has a low but nicely rounded dome of 4+mm, and a fine glassy polish both front and back. And considering how the cost of fine pietersite has sky-rocketed in recent years, my per carat price for a stone of this size and quality is a steal!
