Black tube agate cab ~
Here is a collectible cabochon of black tube agate, something you certainly won't see often. As I understand it, this agate was always very scarce, and the small deposit near Arco, ID was all dug out long ago. This example features tube structures with lacy snow white edges and translucent pools of smoky gray-brown and black agate. A close look reveals that there's quite a lot going on in this example, along with a lovely semi-translucence. It has a high rounded dome of nearly 6mm, a crisp rectangular shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
