Offered here is an extra fancy cabochon of Crown Of Silver psilomelane, from Chihuahua, Mexico. This classic material is sometimes referred to as 'black malachite', though there's no real relation. It features a darkly whirling pattern of bands, with a pair of neat bullseyes, in shiny 'smoked chrome' alternating with sub-metallic black. Match this one up with a setting that inlcudes some mokume gane, literally = wood grained metal, and you'll have an awesome masterpiece that anyone would treasure! The stone has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a sweet and curvy designer shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
