Deschutes jasper cab ~
Offered here we have a cabochon of Deschutes jasper, from Oregon. A long time favorite in the celebrated family of porcelain jaspers, this classic old material has become quite collectibly rare and spendy these days. This cabochon features a fascinating pattern in rich earthy tones of peachy tans and dark reddish browns, with some neat yellowish areas and patches of jet black dendrites. I do need to mention that the thin line running through this one is NOT a flaw, it's simply where two patterns interrupt and rejoin, and it is quite perfectly undetectable on the highly polished surface. The cab has a low but rounded dome of 4.5mm, a crisp rectangular shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
Size: 32x24mm
Weight: approximately 38 carats
