Imperial cab ~
Offered here is a large deluxe cabochon of imperial jasper, fantastic old stock material from Mexico. This is some of the most translucent of this wonderful species of porcelain jasper that I've ever had offered. It has an interesting pattern of subtle bands, with some brecciation in the mauve-pink areas. Even though this is a fairly thick cab, there is a marked degree of mulicolored translucence to most of it, as illustrated by the backlit photo. Set this one in either silver or gold, and you absolutely cannot miss! The stone has a rounded dome of 6mm, and a sleek designer shape, brought to a brilliant polish both front and back.
