Rhodochrosite cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon cut from a section of RARE rhodochrosite stalactite, from Catamarca, Argentina. Not easy to come by like it once was years ago, last I heard, the price of rough from this classic location is strictly controlled by the Argentinian goverment. This delicious cab features various shades of vibrant rose-pink coloration, from light to dark, in a lacy banded pattern that frames a single gorgeous bullseye. The stone is very gemmy and translucent, with a delightful degree of crystalline depth. It has a high rounded dome of 5.5mm, a versatile designer shape, and a great glossy polish both front and back.
