Rhodochrosite cab ~
Offered here is an unusual cabochon of rhodochrosite, from Catamarca, Argentina. Not easy to come by like it once was, last I heard, the price of rough from this classic location is strictly controlled by the Argentinian goverment. This cab features various shades of delicious rose-pink coloration in its many fine diagonal bands, with a neat degree of crystalline translucence. The sub metallic bands show up in shades of blue-gray, adding much to the cab's character. It has a high rounded dome of 6.5, and a great polish both front and back.
