Polka dot agate cab ~
Offered here is a primo cabochon of Priday polka dot agate, which hails from Oregon. This grand old material is a real treat to work with, when you can find it, and never fails to cut extraordinary stones. This fine example has but a scant few of the typical dots, but it certainly has a uniquely attractive pattern and coloration all its own. Viewed with a bit of imagination, its figure is rather scenic. To me, it resembles some otherworldly circular ship ascending, with a ray of light showing the way. The stone is cut in a designer 'flame' shape that compliments the pattern nicely, with a well rounded dome of 5mm, and a brilliantly glassy polish both front and back.
