Orange swirl agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of orange swirl agate, from Mexico. This beautiful old stock material is seldom seen these days, and that's a shame because it cuts mighty interesting stones. This example features mossy burnt orange 'almost-plumes' in a background of pastel purplish agate. There are a few fancy drusy pockets in the agate pools for an extra added dollop of character and visual interest. It is nicely translucent, but I seem to have misplaced the backlit photo. Oh well, you get the idea. The stone has a very high rounded dome of 7mm, a versatile designer 'pillow' shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
