Offered here is a deluxe cabochon of rhodochrosite, from Catamarca, Argentina. This attractive example features various shades of rose and pink in a wildly intricate spiky zig-zag pattern, with a great degree of crystalline gleam. The central 'crystals' look a bit like a butterfly, and that is framed by a razor fine band of grayish marcasite. The stone has a rounded dome of about 5.5mm, a bold designer shape, and a glossy polish both front and back. This beauty is a real steal at less than a dollar per carat!
