Chrysoprase cab ~
Offered here is a remarkable cabochon of Australian chrysoprase from the old Marlborough deposit. This gemmy chalcedony is highly prized, colored in beautiful shades of green by the presence of nickel. This particular example is very highly translucent, with a thread of rusty brown matrix adding much to the visual interest. The black flecks are actually a dark silvery metal, probably hematite. This substantial beauty has a very high rounded dome of 6mm, a designer crescentshape that's sure to help get your creative juices flowing, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
