Rhodochrosite cab ~
Offered here is an unusual cabochon of rhodochrosite, from Catamarca, Argentina. Not easy to come by like it once was, last I heard, the price of rough from this classic location is strictly controlled by the Argentinian goverment. This delicious cab features various shades of vibrant rose-pink coloration in an intricately scalloped and banded pattern, with a great degree of crystalline translucence. The sub-metallic band boldly crossing the stone has a bluish color that adds to the visual interest. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6+mm, and an excellent polish both front and back.
