Wave Hill agate cab ~
Offered here is a largish cab of Wave Hill agate, from Australia's Northern Territory. It's not often that a 'new' material becomes an instant favorite of mine, but these exceptional agates won my heart straight away. This example has outstanding fortification banding in contrasting shades of beige-pink. At center is a hexagonal white 'heart' that has bands of brown, gray and maroon within it. And there are scallops and a neat little bullseyes in cream and pink around the stone's edges. Simply fascinating! There are a few well healed hairlines present in the stone, as is typical, none of which is distracting. The uniqueness of each Wave Hill agate makes it a lapidary's fantasy, a collector's MUST HAVE, and I have no doubt it'll be a jewelry designer's best friend. This cab has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a fat teardrop shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
Size: 40x30 mm
Weight: approximately 57 carats
