Ocean jasper cab ~
Offered here is a trio of very different ocean jasper cabochons, from Madagascar. This splendid agatey variety of oj is quite remarkable, with deep, rich complimentary colors, some of which are beautifully translucent. There are extra fancy orbs and bullseyes in all three stones, and a close look reveals that the flowery lace around the orbs is actually composed of tiny terminated crystals within the stones. Except to say that these gorgeous cabs are very gemmy, they practically defy further description, so I'll simply have to let the photos do the talking here. -smile- Please be sure to click to enlarge them to full size to take in all the details. The large member of this designer cab set has a high rounded dome of 7mm, while the smaller pair are 6mm in thickness; all three stones have a super glassy polish both front and back.
