Montana agate cab ~
Offered here is a dramatic and VERY unusual cabochon of Montana agate, cut from an old stock nodule found on the banks of the Yellowstone River decades ago. It has a scattering of the classic inky black dendrites, in a translucent, almost opalescent, agate background, containing some pretty carmel colors with a hint of fortification. But what makes this stone outrageously unique is the ornate network of twisting, intertwined tubes! They're fascinating, to say the least, and quite extraordinary to find in this type of agate; a person can cut barrels full of Montana agates, and NEVER come across anything like this one! It's truly a stand out stone, if ever there was one. The cab has a high, well rounded dome of 6mm, a sweet designer shape, and a gleaming 'wet ice' polish both front and back.
Size: 44x29mm
Weight: approximately 50 carats
