Dinosaur Bone cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah, cut by my son Christopher. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. Over millennia, the cells in this fossil bone have been completely replaced with a pastel shade of blue agate that includes splashes of burnt yellow. The bold webbing is nearly black, so it really stands out, even from a distance. The cab has a high and well rounded dome of 6+mm, and it is polished both front and back.
