Mook jasper ~
Offered here is a cabochon of colorful mookaite, or mook jasper, from Australia. This fine grained material, at its best, is very hard and durable, close to porcelain in nature. This stone shows some delightfully whimsical patterns in rich blended hues of maroon, coral, red and yellow, with small dabs of olive green here and there. Quite a striking mix, to say the least! I do need to mention a couple negligible surface imperfections, though they're nothing you'll find atall distracting. The cab has a very high rounded dome of 6+mm, a graceful designer shape you'll have fun with, polished both front and back.
