Imperial cab ~
Offered here is a unique cabochon of imperial jasper, from Mexico. This gemmy example has an interesting ringed pattern in pale pink, against a background of dark and light greens, a bit darker in hand than the photos. Backlit, it is surprisingly translucent, actually more agate than jasper, cut from the heart of a prized nodule. The cab has a low but rounded dome of 4mm, a gracefully curved designer shape, and a brilliantly glassy polish both front and back.
