Offered here is a cabochon of top quality Queensland agate, from Australia's famous Agate Creek agate beds. This delightfully striking stone has a heart of gorgeous crimson framed by fortification bands of dusty rose, white and lavender-gray. I'm told the vibrant color is due to the abundant presence of iron, which sets these Down Under agates apart from their plainer cousins from Botswana. This stone will be thrilling set in either silver or gold, or whatever else you might conjure up! It has a a well rounded dome of nearly 6mm, a designer 'flame' shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
