Ocean jasper cab ~
Offered here is an extraordinary ocean jasper cabochon. This Madagascar native was literally mined in the ocean waters near the shore; sadly, the mine owner has recently decided it's become counter-productive to continue harvesting this exquisite material, so there is NO MORE coming out. So I'm especially pleased to present to you this artfully composed collector's stone. It's jam packed with very well defined bullseyes of various sizes, some of which are ringed in as many as four colors. There are light and dark shades of reddish orange, peach, pink, and green, and blendings of each, complimenting each other wonderfully. As in some imperial jaspers I've cut, there is an unusual 'curtain effect', seen as an neat ribbon of lighter color running through the pattern down one side. There are also several fancy sparkling crystalline pockets, surrounded by lovely fortifications, adding much to the appeal. No doubt this one will make a spectacular item of jewelry almost effortlessly, or it'd be a splendid focal point in anyone's collection. This substantial cab has a high rounded dome of 7mm, and it is polished to a glassy brilliance both front and back.
