Fossil coral cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of ancient fossilized coral, from Indonesia. This fascinating material is something you don't see too often, particularly in these colors. It is composed of the highly silicated fossil remains of colonial sea coral, many millions of years old! This particular stone has only a few of the typical flowers, because of the way the cut was oriented. Instead, it has an unusual pattern of contrasting 'fingers' down one side, with others visible inside the stone's translucent root beer colored agate. Lots of odd freckles too. Kinda cool, huh? The cab has a high rounded dome of 7mm, a sleek designer shape, and a nice glassy polish both front and back.
