Priday plume agate ~
Offered here is a unique cabochon of collectibly rare Priday plume agate, from the Priday Ranch digs in Oregon. This captivating stone was cut from some grand old stock which had been stashed away for decades in the cherished collection of an old gentleman rockhound, and I was extremely blessed to have been able to purchase a bag full of slices from his living estate. Oh for joy!!! This stone has a delightful display of ornate plumes and moss suspended in a translucent agate background of clear to palest lavender-gray that shows them off beautifully. Everyone who has seen this stone has been amazed by its uncanny resemblance to an underwater scene. The colorful plumes appear to grow from a ledge of reddish orange agate, surprisingly similar to real corals on a living reef, wafting in the current. It's truly an amazing treasure that anyone would be proud to own. The stone cab has a low but nicely rounded dome of about 3.5mm, and it is polished to a glassy brilliance both front and back.
Size: 38x23mm
