Deschutes jasper cab ~
Offered here we have a cabochon of Deschutes jasper, from Oregon. A long time favorite in the celebrated family of porcelain jaspers, this classic old material has become quite collectibly rare and spendy these days. This cabochon features an interesting pattern in rich earthy tones of peachy tans and reddish browns, with some neat yellowish areas and patches of jet black dendrites. I do need to mention the presence of a few thin hairlines, which blend into the pattern so well they're not overly distracting. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5.5mm, a crisp, long designer 'spear' shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
Size: 51x24mm
Weight: approximately 52 carats
