Rhodochrosite cab ~
Offered here is a collectibly rare cabochon of rhodochrosite, from Argentina, cut from a slice of stalactite. Not easy to come by like it once was, last I heard, the price of classic rhodochrosite is strictly controlled by the Argentinian goverment. -grr- This remarkably gemmy gel-like stone features vibrant pink coloration that's invitingly glowing. Simply delicious! It has but a few of the typical crystalline veil inclusions within, along with a pair of neat bullseyes, and a delightful degree of warm translucence. Beautifully scalloped bands too. This deluxe beauty has a designer 'flame' shape, with a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, and it is polished to a lustrous brilliance both front and back. Please note there is a tiny void, visible in the second pic at bottom right; it will be concealed by most any setting.
