Pauite agate cab ~
Offered here is a rather scenic cabochon of Paiute agate, cut from old stock material sent to me by a friend in Southern Oregon. (No wonder they've started harvesting this fine agate again, hooray! I hope they dig up some more good stuff!) This well marked example features a bunch of the classic black dendrites swirled into a background of burnt orange, including lighter colored agate with a pale purplish tint. The stone has a high rounded dome of 6+mm, a crisp rectangular shape, with a slick, glassy polish both front and back.
