Carnelian cab ~
Offered here is a lovely cabochon of carnelian, also known as orange chalcedony, from an unknown source. It features deep orange and crimson coloration zones, and excellent translucence. Please be sure to click the photos up to their full size to best view the interesting banding and teensy grains of 'pepper' along one edge. The stone has a gracefully fluid designer shape with a well rounded dome of 5mm, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
