Petrified palm root cab ~
Offered here is an unusual cabochon of petrified palm root, from Catahoula
Texas/Louisiana Border. This fossil material is a fascinating piece of the earth's natural history. The small ringed patterns of the once-living palm are quite apparent here, and between them are swirls of cream, gray, brown and palest blue. No fossil collection is complete without a nice example of palm root! The cab has a very high rounded dome of nearly 6mm, and depite a couple teensy pits, it has a gleaming polish both front and back.
