Willow creek jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of fancy Willow Creek jasper, from Idaho. This outstanding porcelain-like material is sometimes refered to as the Queen of jaspers, and is becoming increasingly hard to come by these days, particularly in the top quality everyone desires. The rough for this one came directly from the lone gentleman who mines this fine jasper. Can't blame that nice fellow for the high price per pound cuz after all, he's doing very demanding back-breaking work. Anyway, this stone features an artful pattern of arcs like falling rain in rich but delicate shades of rose pink on pink cream, with some hints of pastel avocado and other colors there are no names for. Behind that is a webbed pattern in beige that looks a lot like a net. Trippy! This jasper happens to be one of Rain's favorites so you may have noticed I don't offer too many Willow Creek stones... It's only now that I have plenty to work with that I can sneak one by her. -smile- It has a well rounded dome of 6.5mm, a smooth ovoid shape, and a brilliantly glassy polish both front and back. As perfect as ever I've cut!
Size: 45x24mm
Weight: approximately 52 carats
