Wave Hill agate cab ~
Offered here is a large cab of Wave Hill agate, from Australia's Northern Territory. It's not often that a 'new' material becomes an instant favorite of mine, but this exceptional agate won my heart straight away. Everyone who sees it is impressed! When Terry Maple spied these agates at this year's Tucson show, he bought the entire lot! Bless his heart for sending some fine little nodules home for me to enjoy! Please take a good look at the details in this stone and you'll see why I blieve this new agate is truly world class. This fine example exhibits some remarkable fortification banding in pink, orange and gray, and surrounding that are more subtle bands and some neat orbs around that in muted orange pastels. The pattern looks a bit like Montana's Dryhead agate, doesn't it? Yes indeedy, it has all the right stuff, and I'm crazy about it, can you tell? The uniqueness of each Wave Hill agate makes it a lapidary's fantasy, a collector's MUST HAVE, and I have no doubt it'll be a jewelry designer's best friend. This beautifully banded gem has a well rounded dome of 6+mm, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
Size: 40x27 mm
Weight: approximately 48 carats
Price: Sold Current gemstone offerings $82.00
