Pyrite in agate cab ~
Here is a bold cabochon of pyrite in agate, from Mexico. It features wonderfully shiny metallic 'chromed islands' of bright, glittery pyrite. Those stand out in sharp contrast against the darker agate background, which appears as nearly black veins or webbing. This material strongly reminds me of one of my personal favorites, Nipomo marcasite, and this metallic was every bit as tough to capture. It's much more beautiful than these photos depict. I think it'd look best in a gold setting, but whatever your plans, it'll make you proud! The cab has a very high rounded dome of 8mm, a crisp designer shape, and a brilliant polish both front and back.
