Malachite cab ~
Offered here is a large, deluxe cabochon of chatoyant malachite, from Zaire. This beauty features countless razor fine bandings in rich, vivid shades of light and dark green. The photos don't really reveal it but in hand, the lighter areas show a neat silky chatoyance that wiggles, much like a satin ribbon does. Only more pronounced. The effect is just camera shy and difficult to capture digitally. This one will be absolutely magnificent set in either silver or gold, no doubt. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5.5mm, a crisply curved designer shape, with a great polish both front and back.
