Flame agate cab ~
Here is a cabochon of brilliant flame agate, from Mexico. This stone was cut from grand old stock material, none too easy to come by these days. It features the more mossy flame-like plumes in very appropriate reddish hues, some of which is brighter crimson, and some deep dark red. There's one good sized sparkly crystalline pocket, and smaller ones still beneath the surface, adding to the stone's character. The background agate is nicely translucent, mostly in warm orangish shades, of course. -smile- I think it's gorgeous! The cab has a well rounded dome of 6.5mm, a gracefully elegant designer shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
