Wave Hill agate cab ~
Offered here is a cab of Wave Hill agate, from Australia's Northern Territory. It's not often that a 'new' material becomes an instant favorite of mine, but this exceptional agate won my heart straight away. Everyone who sees it is impressed! When Terry Maple spied these agates at this year's Tucson show, he bought the entire lot! Bless his heart for sending some fine little nodules home for me to enjoy! Please take a good look at the details in this stone and you'll see why this world class agate has captured my imagination so. This one shows bands, orbs, bullseyes and some fortifications in ivory, coral pink and brown, with several shades between. There is a healed fracture present, but the cab is quite sound nonetheless.
The uniqueness of each Wave Hill agate makes it a lapidary's fantasy, a collector's MUST HAVE, and I have no doubt it'll be a jewelry designer's best friend. The cab has a high rounded dome of 7mm, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
