Ammolite cab ~
Offered here is a dazzling doublet cabochon of gem ammolite, from Canada. This ancient shell material is many millions of years old, and though fossil ammonites are found on every continent, I'm told that those with the brilliant rainbows of color are found only in Canada. And that ammolite is even rarer than diamonds, by far. This outstanding example is most certainly colorful, and even rivals the rainbow fire of black opal! It has a crackly, almost webbed pattern that's aptly called 'dragon skin', my favorite, and shines in virtually every color of the spectrum. This stone is beyond WOW!!! It is capped with natural optical quartz, permanently bonded in place, to protect this treasure from harm, and making this phenominal stone practical for every day wear. It has a well rounded dome of 7.5, a crisp designer shape, and a fine glassy polish.
