Ocean jasper cab ~
Offered here is a truly outstanding cabochon of ocean jasper, from Madagascar. This remarkable stone is definitely one of the agate variety, with plenty going on within its translucent depths. I really love the glassy clear 'windows', holes you can look into deeply, and the gemmy gel agate with its snowstorm of cloudy flecks. There's a whole little world of floating orbs and bullseyes inside this stone, some quite ghostly, some quite ornately ringed, with such a lovely combination of pastel colors that it almost defies description, so I'll simply have to let the pics speak for themselves here. -smile- Please be sure to click to enlarge them to full size for a genuine visual treat, and be aware the cab's even prettier in hand than any flat two dimensional photos could ever show! It's a beauty that's virtually impossible to ignore, and will draw admiring eyes in even the most basic of settings. The stone has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a crisp designer shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back. In case it matters to you, there's a small cup-shaped shallow void on the backside, about 5mm across, where one of the orbs took a separate vacation. -heh- I think it's kinda cool rather than a distraction.
