Butterfly wing jasper cab ~
Offered here is a delightful cabochon of fine old stock butterfly wing jasper, from Mexico. This old time favorite brecciated jasper is a long sought after classic, and mighty tough to come by these days, in any quality. For the record, it is NOT the same thing as the newer fantasy jasper found in the vicinity, though there are some similarities. Please visit my 'sold' gallery, where you'll surely discern the difference. This cab is an excellent example, with a face full of colorfully varied figure, including some neat translucent pools; one with smoky agate, and another in clear framed with white. You just can't go wrong with this one; it definitely won't disappoint! The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5.5mm, and a great glassy polish both front and back. I do need to mention the presence of some odd hairlines on the backside, though they're no distraction at all.
