Prehnite cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of prehnite, which hails from Australia. I bought this material to carve a couple small figures from, and Rain recently cut this interesting cab with some of trimmings. It has a subtle but lovely translucent yellowish-lime color, with some splashes of olive green, which we were told are inclusions of epidote. Looking closely, I can see several needles within the cab that resemble the rutile in quartz, along with the same type of 'fairy frost' inclusions quartz usually has. The stone has a high rounded dome of 8mm, and a sleek designer shape, polished both front and back.
